I came to landscape photography later in my career. Why? Because I didn’t think it possible to really capture how a place feels to me. It’s essence. How it looks, smells, and sounds. How the place does not care about my presence or absence. It just is what it is - a pastiche of light, air, rock, spirit and water. There is something very comforting in accepting that nature is beyond human understanding. Now at least I try to capture a still frame of a sunrise, sunset or water.
