I’ve finally met my doppelganger. Of course it’s a Peregrine Falcon.
While I was on an assignment in Dubai and Abu Dhabi I tagged on some time to visit an old friend I met in Japan. He took me into the desert with his 2 falcons.
In the small village of Al Ain about 2 hours from Dubai I fell in love with camels and the people who love camels.

Just outside Cape Town is the slum or township of Khayelitsha. This shanty town was reserved for non-whites who were barred from living in the cities during Apartheid. We spent a night here with a woman who was close to Nelson Mandela. On a night walk I met many friendly people.

For a few years I photographed the rescued horses for a non-profit. They would make a calendar of the photos I took to sell as a fund-raiser.
